Homework:

Tuesday, March 24th: Lesson 118
Wednesday, March 25th: Lesson 119
Thursday, March 26th: Lesson 120
Friday, March 27th: BREAK PACKET!
This 6th grade school year we will be using Saxon Math curriculum. The Saxon Math curriculum is a spiral math program that introduces a new math concept each lesson. Then the new concept is practiced throughout the other lessons for students to be fully exposed to the concepts.
Starting new this school year, the students will be engaging in GRIT days. The GRIT days will be on each Friday. The GRIT days begin with students working independently solving complex math problems. Then the students are grouped together based off of what problem they stopped on during the independent math time. The student engage in small group discussions regarding their mathematical steps and answers. Lastly, each group chooses one spokesperson to explain their mathematical steps and answers to the whole group. During this time, the students are encouraged to critique or support their student answers. The goal of GRIT days are for students to demonstrate perseverance and use mathematical language to solve complex math problems.
